Cellist Erich Schoen-René attended Bennington and Bard Colleges, and the Manhattan School of Music. His teachers included Maxine Neuman, Luis Garcia-Renart, and David Geber. He also studied Suzuki teaching at the School for Strings with Pamela Davenport. Since settling in New York he has played in a wide range of ensembles, including the Chelsea Symphony, Philharmonic Orchestra of The Americas, Distinguished Concerts International, and numerous chamber and other small ensembles. His playing was featured on the 2018 Grammy award winning children’s album of the year.  He teaches at Hoff-Barthelson, the Brooklyn Conservatory, and the Brooklyn Music Studio.
