This meeting allows us to explore your or your child’s musical background and goals, so we can recommend the teachers, classes, and programs that will make the experience truly rewarding and enjoyable.
Once the perfect match is found, we’ll guide you through registration using our online portal-and the music-making begins!
America 250 in Music
A musical journey through America’s first 250 years presented in collaboration with Scarsdale Adult School
This four-part lecture series traces the evolution of American music from the 18th century to the late 20th century, exploring how the nation’s history, cultures, and defining events shaped its musical voice. Beginning with the hymns, ballads, and revolutionary songs of early America, the series moves through spirituals, marches, and ragtime in the 1800s; the emergence of blues, jazz, Tin Pan Alley, and a distinctly American classical sound in the early 1900s; and the experimental, minimalist, rock, and pop movements that transformed music in the late 20th century. Together, the lectures offer a broad and engaging look at 250 years of American creativity, diversity, and innovation through music.
