Saturday Strings Program for 5th and 6th Grade String Players
Building on the success of its inaugural year, Hoff-Barthelson Music School continues its partnership with the Port Chester-Rye Union Free School District through the Saturday Strings Program, allowing 5th- and 6th-grade string students to strengthen their skills, deepen their musicianship, and grow in confidence.
Students studying violin, viola, and cello meet weekly with Hoff-Barthelson’s expert faculty for small-group instruction focused on instrumental technique, music reading, listening, and essential musicianship skills. Students also rehearse together as an ensemble, applying what they learn while developing collaboration, communication, and ensemble performance skills.
By combining individualized instruction with collaborative music-making, the Saturday Strings Program supports musical growth, builds confidence and connection, and fosters the joy of making music with others. The program also provides a strong foundation for continued study, including private lessons, advanced ensembles, and deeper musical engagement.
