Students of all ages find a musical home at Hoff-Barthelson, and adults are no exception. The high quality of our faculty and our warm, welcoming atmosphere have attracted a wide following of adults eager to develop their musical skills, meet other music lovers, and explore classical, jazz, and popular repertoire at all levels of advancement.

Our adult offerings range from one-off events to classes lasting just a few weeks to semester-long courses. Lessons, ensemble opportunities, classes, and frequent performance opportunities enable adults to discover new talents and interests and to build on existing skills.

You may enroll in classes, lectures, and ensemble opportunities a la carte.

Or consider our Comprehensive Adult Program to experience all we have to offer: lessons with world class teachers, accompaniment, ensemble opportunities, musicianship classes, informal performance workshops, and myriad performance opportunities.

How to Register
Enrollment is open year round, though registration deadlines for classes and ensembles vary.

Many lectures, concerts and beginner-level classes are open enrollment—you may register for these directly online.

Because we take great care to assess each new student’s particular interests and level of advancement before placing you with a private lesson teacher, into intermediate or advanced ensembles, or into courses requiring prior knowledge or experience, the first step in registering for these offerings is to schedule a placement meeting with one of our deans. This meeting is not an audition but a welcoming introduction to the School and our individualized approach to music education.
