Leandro Gazineo, a native of Brazil, was born into a family rich in musical traditions. His passion for music led him to earn a Doctorate in Orchestra Conducting from Louisiana State University, along with a Bachelor and Master of Music in Orchestral Conducting from the Federal University of Bahia in Brazil.
In Brazil, Gazineo served as the Artistic Director and Conductor of the Madrigal Ensemble and the Associate Conductor of the Federal University of Bahia Symphony Orchestra. He also led the Salvador Youth Symphony Orchestra. He conducted prominent ensembles such as the University of São Paulo Symphony Orchestra, the National Symphony Orchestra, the Blumenau Chamber Orchestra, the Symphony Orchestra of Bahia, and the Symphony Orchestra of Rio Grande do Norte. Internationally, he conducted the Philharmonic Orchestra of Mendoza in Argentina and the Philharmonic Orchestra of Montevideo in Uruguay.
In the United States, Gazineo was the conductor of the Louisiana Sinfonietta, Dinos Constantinides New Music Ensemble, and the assistant conductor of the Rapides Symphony for two seasons. In New York, he works with the Harmony Program, teaching and conducting orchestras, and he had a successful tenure with the Riverdale Symphony at Riverdale Country School. Leandro’s dedication to conducting and nurturing young talent continues to inspire and enrich the world of music.
