Sing with us this summer at the Hoff-Barthelson Vocal Performance Institute! Whether you’re a beginner eager to explore your voice or an experienced singer looking to refine your skills, this immersive program is designed to enhance your vocal abilities and performance techniques. Over the course of one week, you’ll work with expert instructors in a nurturing and supportive environment to explore a diverse range of musical styles, from Italian art songs to Broadway hits.

The institute is open to singers entering grades 8-12 and runs Monday through Friday from 3:30 pm to 6:45 pm. Each day will include four dynamic classes, with a focus on building vocal technique and performance confidence. The week will feature two special performances: one by Hoff-Barthelson faculty on Monday evening, and one by students on Friday evening.

DAILY CLASS SCHEDULE

• Sing in Italian! (3:30-4:15 pm) 
  Delve into the Italian Art Song, focusing on style, diction, and expressive interpretation.
  
  
• Sight-Singing for NYSSMA (4:15-5:00 pm)
  Improve your sight-reading skills and prepare for NYSSMA-level performance challenges.
  
  
• Break (5:00-5:15 pm)
  

• Broadway and Beyond: Musical Theatre from Past to Present (5:15-6:00 pm)
  Explore iconic Broadway songs, learning both classic and contemporary musical theatre repertoire.
  
  
• Vocal Performance Workshop (6:00-6:45 pm)
  Build your performance skills through hands-on coaching and individualized feedback.

Dr. Andrea Saposnik is an esteemed vocal educator with a wealth of experience in both classical and musical theatre singing. She brings a passion for vocal technique, performance artistry, and a commitment to helping each student reach their full potential.
