Piano Recital with Christian Pastorino

Born in Genoa in 1996, pianist Christian Pastorino began his studies at age six and was admitted to the “N. Paganini” Conservatory of Genoa in 2010. There he studied with Massimo Paderni and Cesare Castagnoli and pursued chamber music studies with Massimiliano Damerini, earning both his First and Second Level Academic Diplomas with highest honors and distinction. He has also studied with Andrea Lucchesini, Riccardo Risaliti, Benedetto Lupo, and Roberto Plano, with whom he completed a two-year advanced program at the Accademia di Musica di Pinerolo.
Pastorino is the First Prize winner of the 2025 “Franz Schubert” Competition – City of Ovada, an honor that includes a series of debut concerts in the United States, and the Second Prize winner of the 2024 “Paul Badura-Skoda” Competition in Vienna. He has also received awards at several other Italian competitions.
As a soloist and chamber musician, Pastorino has appeared at major festivals and venues throughout Italy, including the Ravenna Festival, Genoa International Music Youth Festival, Paganini Festival, and Teatro Carlo Felice. He has performed Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 20 with the Orchestra of the Genoa Conservatory and Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 3 as part of a complete cycle of Beethoven’s five piano concertos. His performances have taken him to cities throughout Italy, including a recital at the Vatican Museums in Rome.
Pastorino has also recorded music for short-film soundtracks at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome.
