Silvia Grendze is a multifaceted violinist and dedicated Suzuki violin educator. Her musical journey commenced under the tutelage of Suzuki disciples, progressing to advanced studies with Louise Behrend at NYC’s School for Strings. Silvia holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the Manhattan School of Music, where she studied with Erick Friedman and Burton Kaplan.

Since graduating, Silvia has thrived as a freelance violinist, performing with orchestras and ensembles on local, national, and international stages. Alongside her performing career, she has passionately pursued teaching, sharing her expertise through private lessons, school programs, choir engagements, and volunteer work in hospitals.

Returning to her roots at the School for Strings, Silvia became a certified Suzuki violin teacher, advancing through training to book 10. Her dedication to Suzuki education extends to Early Childhood Education and other specialized courses.

Silvia’s scholarly endeavors include in-depth research into J. S. Bach’s works, collaborating with musicologist Dr. Francis Brancaleone on comprehensive analyses of Bach’s Partitas and Sonatas for Solo Violin and other compositions. This research has reinforced her belief in the indispensable role of music and the arts in education.

Central to Silvia’s teaching philosophy is the triangular relationship among parent, teacher, and child, which she considers essential for educational success. She believes that music education not only nurtures future artists but also fosters creative thinking, empathy, and cultural appreciation in students.

Silvia Grendze remains a passionate advocate for integrating music and arts into education, driven by her conviction that they are fundamental to personal and societal enrichment.
