Junko Tsumura Scedrov has performed in solo, orchestra, and chamber music concerts in the United States, Europe, Japan and in Canada. She has appeared at numerous international festivals including Victoria International Festival in Canada; Tibor Varga Festival in Switzerland; Zagreb Music Biennale and Varazdin Baroque Evenings Festival in Croatia; East Hampton Music Festival in New York; and the Festival of the Arts in California among others. Her solo and chamber music concerts include performances at Alice Tully Hall, Carnegie Hall, Hrvatski Glazbeni Zavod, Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concerts in Chicago, Bach Dancing and Dynamite Society in California, as well as extensive concert tours under the auspices of Jeunesses Musicales in Europe.
Junko Tsumura Scedrov was born in Japan where she began her piano studies at the age of five. She later continued her musical studies in the United States with Adolph Baller in California; Nadia Reisenberg, Jacob Lateiner, Joseph Kalichstein, and Felix Galimir (chamber music) at The Juilliard School where she received her Bachelor of Music Degree. Ms. Scedrov is a recipient of Grant, Fund for U.S. Artists at International Festivals and Exhibitions, A public/private partnership of the National Endowment for the Arts, the United States Information Agency, the Rockefeller Foundation, and the Pew Charitable Trusts, with administrative support from the Arts International.
