Born in Russia and a graduate of the Tchaikovsky Moscow Conservatory, violinist Anna Rabinova joined the New York Philharmonic in 1994, and performed as a soloist with the orchestra in 2009 in Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 5 led by Lorin Maazel. She has toured Europe with the Moscow State Symphony, and performed with the Halle Philharmonic, Schwerin Philharmonic, Moscow Radio, Russian State, Berlin and American Symphony Orchestras and the Orchestra of St. Luke’s. She has appeared at the Schleswig Holstein, Caramoor Festivals, and has given recitals in Berlin, Moscow, Leipzig, Belgrade, and Washington, D.C., as well as at New York City venues including Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall and Alice Tully Hall. She has released recordings on the Auris-Subtilis and Naxos labels.
Her honors have included first prize at the 16th International Violin Competition in Belgrade, the Bach International Competition in Leipzig and the 1993 Concerto Competition at the Juilliard School. Anna Rabinova has given masterclasses and individual coaching to students abroad and in the US. She has taught at Manhattan School of Music, LaGuardia High School of Music and Art, the New York Youth Orchestra and other preparatory schools and youth orchestras. Her students were winners of the concerto competitions at LaGuardia High School, the Carnegie Hall/ American Protege competition, members of the National Youth Orchestra of the United States and students at the Royal Academy of Music in London.
Anna Rabinova has been an active member of the Education Department of the NY Philharmonic and has taught at the Shanghai Orchestra Academy and participated in programs for the Music Academy of the West.
