Guitarist/Mandolinist Peter Press performs with a wide array of distinguished ensembles including the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, New York Philharmonic, American Symphony, New York City Ballet Orchestra, Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, as well as numerous contemporary music ensembles. His repertoire covers a vast spectrum of musical styles ranging from Vivaldi concertos to Mahler symphonies and Verdi operas. He is also familiar to audiences as part of the Bas Duo (flute and guitar).

Performances have taken him to the Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center, Harvard and Columbia Universities, Carnegie Hall, and Caramoor. Mr. Press has recorded for Koch International, Bridge, ESS.A Y., RCA Victor, Centauer, and the Sabudo record labels.  His 1989 recording for ESS.A.Y. records of the complete cycle of Vivaldi concertos and trio sonatas for guitar, mandolin and strings is still in playing rotation on New York’s WQXR classical radio station.

During the summer months, Mr. Press has been a participant in the Marlboro Music, Summergarden, Music in the Mountains, Killington and Summerfare music festivals.
