Mark Kushnir, violinist and violist, performs as concertmaster of the Putnam Chorale Orchestra, principal 2nd violin of the Taconic Opera Orchestra, member of the Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra, and is an active performer in area orchestras and chamber ensembles. His academic degrees include a M.F.A. from Sarah Lawrence College, a B.M. from Cleveland Institute of Music, and a diploma from Interlochen Arts Academy. He has attended Interlochen Arts Camp and Meadowmount School of Music. His teachers include David Cerone, Linda Sharon Cerone, Dorothy Delay, Masao Kawasaki, Louise Behrend, and chamber music with Joseph Gingold, Claus Adam, and Rostislav Dubinsky. He was a former member of the Laurentian String Quartet. He currently teaches Suzuki and traditional violin and viola at Hoff-Barthelson Music School and has been a Faculty member there since 1983. He is also manager of the Hoff-Barthelson Festival Orchestra.
