Haozhou Wang is a Chinese-born pianist and educator based in the United States. He began studying piano at the age of three and a half and later attended The Juilliard School’s Pre-College Division before earning both his Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees from Juilliard.
As a performer, Wang has appeared at major venues including Carnegie Hall’s Stern Auditorium, Alice Tully Hall, Salle Cortot in Paris, Chopin Museum in Paris, Merkin Concert Hall, and the National Centre for the Performing Arts in China. In 2025, he received Second Prize at the New York Franz Liszt International Piano Competition, performing Liszt’s Piano Concerto No. 1 with the Orchestra of St. Luke’s at Carnegie Hall. His other distinctions include First Prize at the Viseu International Piano Competition, the Weatherford International Piano Competition, the Yamaha USASU International Piano Competition, and The Juilliard School’s Bachauer and Nordmann Piano Competition, as well as being named a Finalist at the Gina Bachauer International Piano Competition.
Wang has studied with renowned pianists and pedagogues Gary Graffman and Robert McDonald, whose mentorship has played a central role in his artistic development.
Alongside his performing career, Wang is an active piano teacher with experience teaching students of different ages and levels. His students have earned admission to selective programs including The Juilliard School Pre-College Division and the Manhattan School of Music Pre-College Division. His teaching emphasizes technical foundation, musical understanding, stylistic awareness, and the development of each student’s individual artistic voice.
