Jazz and Jazz-Influenced Music with Scarsdale Area Poets

An engaging evening of jazz and spoken word featuring performances by HBMS Jazz ensembles and guest poets from the Scarsdale community. The program includes selections by the Jazz Band and Advanced Jazz Band, as well as Baroque and Blue from Claude Bolling’s Suite for Flute and Jazz Piano, performed by Luca Tichio, flute (pianist TBA), and Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue (two-piano version) performed by Arianna Thomas and Lucius Liu.

The concert concludes with a collaborative Jazz and Poetry set featuring members of the Adult Jazz Band alongside readings by Gretna Wilkinson, Marlena Baraf, and Harriet Shenkman, paired with jazz standards including Cole Porter’s It’s Alright With Me, Lover Girl, Chopin Prelude/How Insensitive, and It Had to Be You.
