From the 18th century to today\, the series traces how diverse cultures\, communities\, and defining events have shaped the music of the United States. \nDiscover the profound influence of spirituals and the music of enslaved Americans\, the popular songs of Stephen Foster\, and the stirring marches of John Philip Sousa.
